The Moon by Toia

The Moon

The moon is a big moon is grey with moon dust on it.

Size
The moon is  small because the moon is a quarter of the earth we live on.

The  First Men on the Moon
The first men on the moon were Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong. They went to the moon
50 years ago. They were the first men on the moon and they had to wear astronaut suits.
Michael Collins waited for them in the spaceship.

There is no air and no animals or plants on the moon.

Moon

The two people who went on the moon first were Buzz (Edwin) Aldrin and Neil Armstrong.
Michael Collins went with them and stayed in the spaceship waiting for them. They all came
from America. It took them eight days to get there and back.

The moon is a quarter of the size of earth. The moon's surface has little rocks and moon dust.
It is also made of big rocks too! There are lots of holes on the surface of the moon called
craters!

The moon is a big dry ball of rock with no life. It is a very interesting place to learn about.

Movement
The moon spins 27 times as it orbits the earth once every 27 days.

Atmosphere

The moon is very hot when the sun’s heat reflects on it. The moon is an important place
to learn about.

Sonia's Winter Poem

Winter is…

Feeling as cold as an ice block

Wearing thick warm clothes

Icy cold fingers and toes

Playing in the snow

Building a snowman and snowball fights

Frozen icy grass

Drinking warm milk

Eating hot food

Cuddling in your blanket in front of the fire

Sitting and watching TV

Having a good night's sleep!

Cherry Blossom Art with Miss Han

This week we really enjoyed our Mandarin lesson with Miss Han. We used black ink and blew on it to create a tree shape. Next we added blossoms.  Our pictures looked very attractive when we had completed them.
